Learning English Online for FREE

The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed those in the B40 group many steps back – as the world transitioned online to adapt to the sudden changes brought on by the global pandemic, those without access to devices, an Internet connection, and computer literacy have been left behind.

With schools closed, many children in the B40 community lost access to education. Many do not have the means to participate in online learning. Disruption of their education will be detrimental to their future. This is a weighty issue, as without education, many of these children will be trapped in the cycle of poverty.

We at SOLS 24/7 are committed to stand in the gap and to provide English and computer skills to these communities. These are vital skills in order to be employable and to earn a decent wage. SOLS 24/7 has established academies and community centres in various rural areas, and in response to the pause of in-person classes due to the pandemic, we have provided virtual classrooms and the necessary devices to ensure no child misses out on learning.

It has been a challenging time for all, and for us too at SOLS 24/7, but as a tax-exempt non-profit foundation; helping and transforming our communities is our heartbeat. And we want to reach even more Malaysians in need over the next few years. With this in mind, we have been working on a free mobile app that provides English lessons to users, and we are excited to announce that we have launched it – I’ll share more about it in my next post! 😉
